Providence Commemoration Lab

Funded by the Mellon Foundation and the American Rescue Plan, The Providence Commemoration Lab is a program co-administered by The Department of Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) and the Rhode Island Historical Society (RIHS). The Lab sites and stages new, temporary projects on public property that invite unexpected ways of understanding commemoration as a communal process of historical redress and spatial reclamation.

“Sometimes" is a set of 9 dice with the letters S, O, M, E, T, and I on the sides. Players are to roll all the dice together in the hopes of spelling the word “sometimes.” The work is also potentially self-signing, as another roll may spell out Sisto is me.” Players are free to make up additional rules.

Save As: Supercuts was a live radio show at Wave Farm Radio in upstate New York featuring audio from supercuts—videos in which a fan / hobbyist collected every phrase, action and/or cliche from an episode or series of some show, film or game into a video montage [Andy Baio, 2008]. Listeners were treated to such hits as Romeo Tran's "Every Gear Change In The Fast And Furious Series" and Phil Norden's "Movie Phone Hangups."

Slowly Sinking

Slowly Sinking is an investigation and series of actions inspired by Charles Darwin’s book “The Formation of Vegetable Mould Through the Action of Worms.” The project was carried out in London with my friend Vickie Hayward and included a earthworm health survey for the Earthworm Society of Britain, the burning of some sage, and a poem.
